Tuzla Community Foundation is a non-profit, indenpendent and non-govermentalfoundation, and it has been active since July 2003, woking in the area of TuzlaMunicipality. It was built in tihe frame of YEPP (Youth Empowerment PartnershipProgram, www.yepp-community.org), as the result of joined initiative of YEPP, 18 citizens of Tuzla and German foundation „Freudenberg Stiftung”, that was active in Simin Han in period from 2000 to 2004.
Tuzla Community Foundation is charitable organisation that was established with the goal to improve the quality of life and satisfy the critical needs of civic society in Tuzla.
Besides the “Grant programme” for financial support to civic initiatives and initiatives of young people ( Youth Bank, Tuzla ), the foundation implements other programmes and projects, that carry general good interest for Tuzla: The Social Center Development Programme in Simin Han, The Youth Empowerment Partnership Programme (YEPP – www.yepp-community.org), Community Development Programme and open education through partnership with nternational Association “Interactive Open Schools, Tuzla (abbr. MIOS Tuzla, www.ioskole.net).
We work on strengthening partnerships between three sectors in Tuzla, cooperates with active citizens, organisations and associations in Tuzla, young and other volunteers, businesses and institutions that contribute todevelopment of civil society in Tuzla and improvement of living conditions.
By gathering and redistributing gifts and support given by different donors, we function as the transmitter and represents an additional source of means to local non-profit organisations and civic initiatives. Its role is to be an initiator and motivator of community, aiming to solve local problems and build thecircle of self-assistance.
Model of such independent local foundation for community development is the approved and efficiant way to join the initiatives of socially responsible companies, active civil socitey organisations and goverment programs with the general goal to support activities for community benefit! We stand for the model that sets the frame for bottom-up development of civic society in Tuzla.
